Who me?
Welcome to my life! Many days my two boys keep me laughing by what they say, their reactions, funny faces, etc. This is just a fun site to record some of their comments and other observations of living in a foreign country.
Originally from Colorado, my family and I moved to South Africa in 2005. My hubby was born and raised in KwaZulu-Natal and though he loves the States, after 13 years there really was missing home, family and his country. We agreed to try it out for a year—and as I mentioned earlier, we are going on year 4!
My two sons were both born in Colorado but if you spoke to them for a minute, you’d never know it! My eldest would talk your ear off about the latest cricket tour while the younger of the two wants to tell you how Butch James scored that last try for the Springbok rugby team last weekend in Durban. They are only little, but living in a nation that is obsessed with sport(s), they fit right in!
I’m somewhere in the middle. My heart, lucky for me, is big enough to be stretched between the two continents. Though it does ache from time to time, I find that having a close relationship with my family (on both sides) and friends makes it a bit easier.
Okay! Enough of the serious side—get back to reading (and hopefully giggling too!)
